Sticking board well, i squeezed in a little shop time during a lull in the ongoing "war of the bamboo floor" – a war in which i am forced to admit defeat. well, at least defeat of my anticipated schedule.. Sticking boards are an excellent benchtop appliance when cutting mouldings by hand. a proper sticking board is an l-shaped device that holds the wood you want to “stick” (the old fashioned term for “cut mouldings.”). Sticking board when you have to work small in section pieces with molding, plow and rebate planes, may be convenient to use a proper board which helps to keep them steady during planing. it simply consists of a leveled board , at least 150 cm long and with section of about 10 x2, 5 cm..
The purpose of the sticking board is to hold narrow thin stock steady for molding. the sticking board is held between dogs on the bench, with the left edge hanging just over the edge of the bench.. If you've seen me at a show you've probably seen my 4 foot sticking board. it used to be 7. i spilled a cup of coffee on it a while back. the board swelled and got chopped in half.. Adjustable sticking board i was able to find a little more time for work on the lap desk. it is a while since i have made really small drawers, and i forgot to add the grooves beforehand..
